Cienna has been Dancing for 37 years, beginning with Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Followed her Mediterranean heritage into Belly Dance at the age of 18, thanks to a serendipitous casting as a Belly Dancer in a college production of “Man of La Mancha”, she found a home like no other in the world of Belly Dance. Upon transitioning from traditional point ballet to the flow and techniques of Middle Eastern Belly Dance, Cienna quickly became professional, performing across the ti-state area and Florida.
After over a decade of Cabaret Belly Dance, Cienna moved to Florida where she directed and facilitated the Youth Belly Dance Company, World Wind Dancers, ages 11-18. The World Wind Dancers quickly became a Belly Dance Fusion ensemble incorporating Congolese, West African, Latin and Bollywood dance. The Company had both young women and young men who traveled throughout Florida with noted performances at Disney World, Cypress Gardens, Florida’s Best Dance Crew and Osceola Cultural Arts Festival. As her students deepened in the Fusion movement, Cienna began exploring the World of American Tribal Style and Tribal Fusion with teachers in Florida as well as workshops and Seminars with noted prominent Fusion Artists. Inspired by attending classes and workshops within the world of Tribal, and finding great love and appreciation for the cutting edge works of Fat Chance Belly Dance, Wild Card Belly Dance and Black Sheep Belly Dance, Cienna set out to create a vivid tribal fusion style that was unique to the East Coast, particularly her deeply loved home and birthplace of Long Island, New York.
With award winning performances in both Florida and New York, Cienna brings a level of Joy and passion within dance that is contagious for her audience, and strives to impart the beauty of all women, at every size, shape and age.
“Dance is a Celebration of Life, the acceptance of the divine within and without and a shared personal experience. Everything is part of the Dance… the Movement of wind, the Flow of water, the Pulse of fire, the Heartbeat within, the motion of the very earth. Within the dance, all is alive, all is joy and all is peace.” ~Cienna Rizza 2014.
With a Masters degree in Education, Teaching is at the core and heart of Cienna’s practice. Utilizing the scaffolding of techniques to break down core movements, layering and drills, students become confident in their ability at every level of skill.
Always taught in a loving and supportive environment, the concept of “Tribe” or community is at the heart of Cienna’s vision for the cultural hub that is Tribal Dance Long Island. With degrees in both Theater Arts and Public Speaking, the concept of performance is an important one, creating a “full circle’ concept of performance art within the Studio to create well rounded performers, whether they are students of Belly Dance, Burlesque, Drum, Pole and beyond.

“Inspiring women to love themselves naked, live life off the scale, and find their bliss through the beauty of alternative fitness!”
Ms. Squires is a Fitness enthusiast, nature lover, wellness junkie, pole addict, nomad instructor, mad-about-chocolate foodie, and Owner & Founder of FITesque Beauty, a company dedicated to mindful living, fitness and adventure for women. Her mission, like that of TDLI, is to dispel the myths of perfection and empower women with positive behaviors that will create positive habits for overall health, happiness and self-acceptance.
After working in the fitness industry for over 20 years, Dona realized there was more to fitness than just working out in gyms, getting 6-pack abs, and striving for perfection. She witnessed herself and other women struggle to be something that they were expected to be, but not able to be… PERFECT! As she got older and became aware of the epidemic of pain and suffering that women were going through, she decided to quit her full-time job in the fitness industry, and start my own company to help women realize that imperfections are unique, human and beautiful. There is no such thing as “perfect” as society would have us believe. It infuriates Dona to see women needlessly suffer every single day with low self-esteem and low self-worth. Now, proudly in her 40’s, Dona lives life her way, according to her rules, and nourishes her body with love everyday.
According to Donna; “You do not need to constantly struggle to get the perfect body or to look a certain way. Societal standards of beauty are cookie-cutter images of youth and images of perfection not possibly achieved by most people”. In this deep held belief, he company Fit’esque was created to fuel the hungry soul and to create a community with those who want to achieve fitness in a fun way, enjoy life, and find self-love and confidence. Dona firmly believes It’s time to live life off the scale, free yourself from the prison of societal standards, and start loving the body you’re in! ♥
